Early Harvest Extra Virgin Oil of Amfissa 500ml
High quality early harvest olive oil from our olive groves in Nies Magnesia. It is produced in early October exclusively from the “Piliou – Amfissis” olive variety. The sea salt, carried by the wind to our seaside estates, hugs the olive trees like a veil and gives the olive oil a salty note.
The Early Harvest Oil of this variety is characterized by its low acidity and is rich in vitamins, polyphenols and minerals that have an antioxidant effect.
It is recommended to be consumed raw in all your dishes.

Location
Nies is a coastal settlement of Sourpi in the region of Magnesia. It is located at a distance of 5 kilometers from Sourpi Magnesia. The coastal location of Nies Sourpi was considered a major naval station in ancient times. That is where the name comes from naus – nees = ships. It is claimed, in fact, that it was the naval station of the Homeric king Achilles, who, being the head of 2500 Myrmidons and 50 ships, sailed for Avlis and later for Troy participating in the Trojan war.
After the liberation of Greece in 1821, olive cultivation developed strongly in Nies. Our ancestors built huts and used two paths to walk from Sourpi to Nies to collect the harvest, which was also their main income.
At the same time, they also built the galiagries, oil mills that were powered by wood but also by animal and human power. In 1995, two galiagrias were recognized as preserved monuments, as examples of pre-industrial complexes.

Our Estate
Our waterfront estates consist of 800 ancient trees with a history of over 100 years.
We in turn, as our ancestors did, continue to care for these storied olive trees, ensuring that future generations will show them the respect, love and devotion they deserve.
